Welcome!
My name is Ben, and I graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in November 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering and a concentration in dynamic systems and control. I currently work as a GNC engineer. I am also working towards my Master in Aerospace and Engineering Mechanics from The University of Alabama as a part-time student. My main engineering interests are dynamics and controls. On this site, you will find selected projects from my work in those fields and highlights of my astrophotography hobby and other pastimes.
Do you wonder how things work? I grew up watching How it’s Made and ever since have been fascinated by how things work, from spaceships to clocks. This interest led me to engineering, where I can apply my technical knowledge, creativity, innovation, and perseverance in the workplace.
Creativity, innovation, and perseverance have also helped me improve my tennis, foreign language skills, and astrophotography.
Collins Aerospace Facility, Rockford, Illinois, where I worked as an engine systems engineer from March to August 2020. While working at Collins, I helped develop new MATLAB-based simulation programs to analyze fuel pumps for military and commercial aircraft.
As a controls engineering intern at Daifuku Wynwright in Bolingbrook, Illinois (summer 2021), I worked with six controls engineers to commission the Harbor Freight Tool Facility, in Joliet, Illinois, a 1.6 million square foot distribution center.
As a controls developer engineer at Altec in St. Joseph, Missouri (summer 2022), I worked on building firmware to support and expand the large aerial device product family.
